seeing

you can look at things in life,

or you can see them.

it could have been all the flooding here in town

and the fact that we have been without drinking water for days,

or maybe it's that the heat and humidity finally lifted

and it feels like we can breathe again,

but i find i am seeing more beauty

and finding gratitude

for all of summer's blessings.

falling in love with our home again

after being convinced that we should move, even putting an offer on another house.

  

loving our short family trip to chicago,

the colors and unexpected surprises at the lincoln park zoo,

city lights,

fun times with my brother and his family,

new places to discover together,

 

summer skies,

our kids and friends splashing their way through summer's scorching days,

my grandma--soon to be 95 years old,

dinners prepared with our garden's goodness,

 

friendships developing and flourishing during tender youthful years.

seeing it all.

and full of gratitude.

my family met in arizona for the week

my sister & her husband, my brother and his family, another brother and his wife, my parents

the home we stayed in---amazing

pool, deck, basketball court, etc...our own little resort

how fabulous to have all those you love together--having fun, hanging out, laughing

little cousins getting to know eachother---so cute!

i'm rambling because we're still en route on our way back home

in a hotel again---

but here's some stats from our trip:

number of miles we ran, walked, hiked:  185+

number of trips to urgent care: 2 (my kids---sick!)

number of hours kids swam: ???too many to count!

number of wine bottles we went through: ? definitely some good red and whites were enjoyed!

number of sunny, beautiful days: 7
